Found this gem on my phone:

Of course this could be spoofed. Regardless, it makes getting out of TSLA easier than it already is.

Elon is, indeed, fearless, but the real Elon is more literate. But wouldn't one of Elon's prime directives to his staff be to make sure his X account cannot be spoofed?
It is not a spoof. I saw him say that jokingly during a Tucker interview. Probably not totally out of the question though. He clearly is not very well liked by that side, and they will punish him for sure if they can. He has done great harm to them (politically) when he exposed the censorship and govt interference with the Twitter Files reveal. Even Zuckerberg has admitted they were doing it to him, too, but he is trying to lay low on that subject, unlike Musk.

"Punish him" is inaccurate:

Article I, Section 9, Clause 3
: "No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed"

Elon would have to violate an existing law for prosecution and short of a capital offense, he could not be killed. Now they might pass a law that makes him wish he were dead but it would apply to more than just Elon. That is not why I am selling my TSLA stock.

I can get a better return on my capital with a steady income by moving to a different investment. TSLA stock has no dividend so profits only occur when it is sold.

Did the NHTSA investigate the fatal Arizona crash and the Frisco pedestrian crash?

I see no mention of investigations of the accidents that didn’t happen. Like my medical incident in April 2019.

Regardless, if this results in a ‘standard’ for driver assist, it would be a good thing. Level the playing field and get facts and data.

Seeing Elon give $1 million to buy votes, I put my last TSLA stock for sale at whatever price when the market opens. Monday/Tuesday will be a great window to buy TSLA for a low price. I can do more with whatever I get such as buying a Harris/Walz bumper sticker and a donation to commemorate $10.21.

Fully paid off, I'm keeping my Tesla Model 3 with Full Self Driving until the wheels fall off. I paid for a Tesla Universal Wall charger which should be here Tuesday.

One good thing, I lost any interest in the Q3 2024 report tonight. For what it is worth, the quarterly report is just the score card. I'm more interested in the coach and players. A bad coach easily defeats the best players ... who leave to find new opportunities.

After tonight's results, could be the next leg down for TSLA. Unless he somehow pulls a rabbit out of the hat, that no one is expecting. But not likely given past disappointing events. I would not be surprised to see it break below 200 tomorrow.

Ironically, a Trump win could save the stock, if Tesla gets favourable treatment going forward. I think Musk is counting on that.

Given Trump's past performance, I doubt it could save the stock ... "Everything he touches dies."

The only way I might approach TSLA again would be if Elon "passes the torch." Alternatively, he sells Twitter/X and stops posting political and conspiracy nonsense. His technical and technical management skills work for me but IMHO, he has gone off the deep end. Mental health is a very hard problem to correct.

That's very true, and it's even harder to correct when you're rich enough to surround yourself with sycophants who only tell you what you want to hear. While I can't prove it, looking from the outside it sure seems like this is likely the case with Musk. Today is Tesla's earnings call -- after the stock market closes, so we won't see reaction reflected in the stock price till tomorrow -- and it may be interesting. Investors clearly want to see some solid plans related to the robotaxi project and future products. A normal CEO would try to come up with something meaningful to give them, even if it's partly a work in progress. We shall see.

I have extended hours on my trading platform and TSLA popped up $10 from its close right after the report came out. Will see where it ends up, as analysts dig into the details. But it continues to strengthen ATM.

Tesla is predicting higher sales in Q4, which could prove true -- since they already seem to be offering the sort of big discounts not normally seen till December. If you make something cheap enough, folks will indeed buy it. Notably, they're offering $4,000 off on the Model Y, which was down last quarter, probably in part due to the rise of the Chevy Equinox EV on the low end of the price spectrum.

Wow, a $25 rise during after hours. Should be interesting to see what happens in the morning with the conf call.

Out of habit, I tried to watch a trusted, Tesla stock supporter ... but I didn't have the time to waste.

Profit beat thanks to the $739 million in automotive regulatory credit revenue during the quarter from other manufacturers. Stock is up $30 in premarket trading. Musk's forecast of 20% increase in sales next year helped, too. But that is not assured given the dismal sales performance in 2024.

Have to admit, though, am more than a little surprised at the stock surge, given realistically what Tesla is facing in the future with competition and lack of a low cost EV. And we know that investors can be very fickle. What goes up quickly can come down just as quickly. All it takes is a hint of bad news. So if it was me and I owned the stock, this would be a good time to sell.

Autoweek: Tesla Axes $25k Traditional EV. Sandy Munro was so sure the CyberCab was just a steering wheel and a couple of pedals away from becoming the Model 2. Oh well, the old Elon might have tempted me with a good-looking Model 2, but either the old Elon was an act or he's no longer the old Elon.

Yup, sure looks like he is putting all his eggs in the autonomous vehicle basket. Don't get it actually, unless he figures that even with his best efforts he will never be able to compete in the low end car market. He could be right. So maybe a long shot, but he may figure all he's got now is FSD, autonomous, robots, etc. It is all or nothing...

But he obviously still has some believers given the stock price action. Will see how long that lasts...
