So it’s official. On Saturday I put in my order for the Countryman SE. It’s kind of exciting to see “SCHEDULED FOR PRODUCTION” on the build timeline (again). The original plan was to trade in our Cooper SE for the Countryman SE, but the Cooper’s been so good to us that we’ve decided to keep both. Anybody else here waiting for their car to get built?

I've ordered one; no numbers to plug into the mini garage yet to see its status, however. (Favoured, Iconic, smokey green with a tow hitch.)

It is a little risky, but I'm keeping my SE. (Risky because if a hurricane heads for Dallas, I'll have to join a horde evacuating, and Texas doesn't yet have plans to provide electrons to EVs during mass evacuation events.)

Here's to hoping that MTTS will eventually pick routes that allow EVs to join.

The NYTimes reports: "When a dockworkers’ union broke off contract talks with management in June, raising the likelihood of a strike at more than a dozen ports on the East and Gulf Coasts that could severely disrupt the supply chain this fall, it was not over wages, pensions or working conditions. It was about a gate through which trucks enter a small port in Mobile, Ala."

Here's to hoping that contract talks are successfully concluded and that U25's don't get stuck in a port.

As of last night my MINI has been at the port waiting to be unloaded off the boat. I’m curious how long it’ll take to get from there to the dealer. From what I’ve read it could be anywhere from three days to three weeks.

Here’s a quick follow-up that might be of interest to some of you. I emailed my dealer to see if he could give me a rough idea of how long it would take to get from the port to the dealer. He told me that the car is currently at the vehicle processing center. Here’s what he said: “There’s a stop sale on some of the Countryman SE regarding the head unit. MINI will fix the issue at the vehicle processing center before they send the cars to us.” I’m guessing this could add a few days to the wait time. Not sure if this will also affect those of you whose cars are coming in on the boat right now.

For reference, my experience getting my SE was at some point they release the car to a carrier to deliver it to the dealer. In my case my car was held up by the carrier for a number of weeks due to driver shortages. Once it finally got on the move it took two days to drive the truck with my car from the Baltimore port to the Twin Cities.

Congrats on your Countryman SE! I wonder if the DC fast charging curve will be similar to the BMW iX1. The F56 SE has a very good charge curve relatively to its battery pack size.

Should be the same as the iX1 so NMC 811 prismatic Gen5 on the agnostic ICE/EV/Hybrid platform. Gen6 will be out with the Neue Klasse platform, but that's MY2028.

The F56 BEV to my knowledge would have to be at best NMC 622 but the entire battery pack is simply too small to accept more amperage.
