How ADAS in EVs compares favorably to gasoline-powered cars in terms of safety and efficiency? Do you have any idea?

I'd say it depends more on the company that developed the ADAS technology rather than how the vehicle is powered. I can't think of a reason why an EV would have an advantage or disadvantage compared with ICE-powered vehicles.

I have these examples:
  • 2014 BMW i3-REx - just dynamic cruise control had problems with low sun and climbing overpasses with overhead signs.
  • 2017 Prius Prime - could not stay in lane as its 'nudge' rapidly diverted on the 3d across all lanes headed for the ditch.
  • 2019 Tesla:
    • Autopilot - early problems were corrected over three years until Full Self Driving changed to an AI stack.
    • Full Self Driving - still has "phantom" speed zones (a Google Map problem) and rare left, multi-lane, multi-car, intersections. Navigation is take learning.

These ADAS problems cannot be attributed to electric power vs ICE power. Tesla, developer of the most advanced EV technology, also strives to have the most advanced ADAS technology, but Tesla's ADAS technology could work just as well in an ICE vehicle. I would guess that BMW uses the same ADAS technology in both their EVs and ICE vehicles.

For the most part, they should be the same or better at the vehicle's price point. Some of this stuff is government mandated.

You can go to the insurance institute for highway safety website to see their ratings.

I can say from experience the MINI adaptive cruise control was initially camera-based and not very reliable, but the new models are radar-based and I recently drove a new ICE MINI for a week and it worked extremely well. Same technology is in the new MINI EVs, but those aren't in North America yet.

Another improvement in the new MINI models is they can now set the speed to match the current posted speed limit (with a touch of a button, I don't know if it can be done automatically), whereas the previous generation recognized speed limits but only as driver information.

Oh yeah, also added 360º camera view in the ICE model I was driving, certainly it will also be in the BEVs.

Not sure if other car makers are like MINI, but they basically designed new BEVs and then "backported" the technology into the new ICE models. Or at least intended to always make their new ICE models match the designs for the BEVs.
