Yeah. If you think it may be a signal issue, my network controller indicates the Grizzl-E is at a solid -55 signal, similar to the smart outlet nearby. The screen shot ChargeLab sent indicates an average of -65, and varies from -85 to -55. ChargeLab says the turning point is -71 dBm, its an unreliable connection with less signal than -71 and not guaranteed less than -81.
Since setting it to a dumb charger works well, I kinda expect it has something more to do with the robustness of the connection to their server in terms of data error or packet loss mitigation. Perhaps a weak wifi implementation contributes to packet loss. I have a wired ethernet drop nearby, too bad a hardwire interface is not provided. Kinda Hard to make those weatherproof however.
I guess that, if they change the charger firmware to not require mothership authorization before charging, this problem will go away.
