What did you do to your MINI today?

The mirrors can be folded by pressing the appropriate switch on the driver's door (before you get out) or by long-pressing the lock button on the key fob (which will also roll up windows and close the sunroof).

I understand this is how you can do it, but on my last MINI and all the other cars I've had with folding wing mirrors they folded when the car was turned off.

I thought I had read somewhere that the automatic folding on MINIs doesn't happen in North America, but it does in other countries.

I’ve tried to find if it was hidden somewhere deeper within expert settings, or perhaps needs to be coded with esys, but to no avail yet. It’s not the biggest bother: if I’m getting out of my car, I’m locking it; if I’m locking it, I’m using the outside door handle button; if I’m pushing that button for a split second, I may as well push it for one second to fold the mirrors.

I'm a Brit living in America. British parking and roads are narrow like few Americans would believe. Brits often drive closer than most Americans can park. Folding mirrors save a lot of mirrors. Having your mirror knocked off by passing cars was common before folding mirrors. Most of the US, I'd say it is an unnecessary gimmick. It'll wear the mechanism.

Anyone know if there is a way to adjust the notification volume in the MMI? In my Audi you could adjust so it would come in while still listening to music. I find it stops the music and then takes a few seconds to go back to music.

I am trying to decide what lowering springs to go with, Eibach or H&R. Any advice between the two is greatly appreciated. Also spacers to run once lowered; I am thinking 15mm and 20mm but not sure if those are too aggressive once lowered.

On another note, is anyone running a strut bar? Seems like the ICE versions should fit the SE with no issue.

A strut bar would make it impossible to pop off the inverter/motor cover to show off what powers this gloriously ICE-less MINI. No one wants to give up that pleasure at their local car shows.

My electrician came and wired up the 240v. Unfortunately the plug I supplied, Hubbell 9450 was missing a screw. I should have checked it. Luckily he had a 50amp stove plug in his truck. He wasn’t too concerned using it and neither am I. I set charge rate at 16amp in the car. We were both pretty annoyed with the Hubbell plug missing parts. Everything else was smooth sailing.

I’ll use the BMW flex charger for now as the last month has been really expensive lol

Yeah, tbh if you’re not frequently unreplugging the 14-50P the risk is minimal, especially at 30ish Amps max continuous draw. Are you going to replace the Leviton with the Hubbell eventually? I know you prefer over-building as do I.

Possibly I’ll replace it in the near future. He’s been doing lots of EVSE installs lately but suggested just paying a bit more for a hardwired version. Less connections in the system.

Yeah mine said the same. But he had fun doing mine, I’d done most of the heavy lifting for him by running the wire and installing the box; all he had to do were the connections at the receptacle and panel. Roulez Vert needs an electrician’s invoice for the $600 rebate when you get the new EVSE though.

I did the same with all the heavy lifting . And that’s only for the full rebate. They’ll credit you up to 350$ for an EVSE an on existing circuit. I have sources on that

You can get him to write you an invoice that it’s a new circuit if he’s connecting the EVSE in place of the receptacle that he installed. I’d have no qualms doing that.
