I looked up the value on KBB and I have 2 dealers I have to visit during the week, within an hour of submitting the online form, a bunch of local dealers emailed me. Thank you for the link and I will check them all out, Carmax is the baseline and the one to beat. Thank you again for the links, this part is actually pretty fun and in today's car market it makes it easy. In doing some math with the Carmax quote, not including taxes and fees, it cost me $188 per month to own my Mini 3-1/2 years. You can't even lease a compatible car for that amount.
I sold two cars to carbuyersusa. I didn't like shifts terms. They have the car then send you the check. Too much can go wrong. Carbuyersusa sent an appraiser out, we agreed, they got the title, I got the $ then they got the car. The $$ was in the same range as the other places, but I had the car until the $ cleared. Not the same room for shenanigans.

Shift gave me best quote. Yes they take car first but it was smooth, I got my approval next day and then money was wired to me in next 2 days. It was smooth no hassle sale for me. Again personal choice, for me the difference of price was almost $1000 so I took the uneasy terms risk. But if your car is in good shape they don't haggle. After their inspection they found a dent and some scratches (cosmetic) and they didn't do anything, just approved as promised. So had a good experience with shift (seattle).

Is it ok not to have that installed in California?

I'm in Michigan, so I'm not an authority on CA front license plates, but I've been reading posts in this forum. I'm almost certain there is no CA law that forces the dealer to drill holes for a license plate in your MINI's front bumper.

Some people in CA simply go without having a front license plate and take their chances of getting a ticket. Some people in CA use license-plate holders that don't require extra holes in the front bumper (such one that attaches to the MINI's front tow-hook mount). Some people in CA get one of the vinyl front License-Plate Wraps that are available only in CA (but they're slightly too large for a MINI front bumper without trimming). One person on this forum had a bumper sticker license plate made that was proportionally smaller than the regulation license plate so it would fit on the front bumper of his MINI without trimming.

My car *might* be on the Virgo Leader.. it was headed to the port Last Friday.. oo hope so.. might have to call miniusa...

Anyway on topic - I might call the dealership and ask to not install the front plates too. Here in Utah they do require them but for the last 5 years I've never been pulled over or gotten a ticket in my life.. and I don't have a front license plate or bracket at all. Sadly my sister did but I think she was speeding or something and he added that to it... anyway I agree with others. It ruins the look.

I'm told my Sig+ SE is on the Doninigton, which left Southampton on 21 June... for Bremerhaven Germany :(
As of 2 minutes ago, it's been moored at Bremerhaven since 23 June. Today is 27 June.

I just called ASK MINI, and the agent confirmed my little green one is on CEPHEUS LEADER which is heading to California with an ETA of 07/12/2022.
So I'm expecting arrival at dealer before August!

Pretty much what Insightman said.

I am in the SF Bay area. I asked the dealer to not install the plate holder, and they complied. There is a risk, as front plates are required in CA, but in my experience (and my area) the police don't pull you over for this violation, but they will issue a 'fix it' ticket if you are pulled over for something else and they notice---which they will.

Our Mini is finally in transit to the dealer (Seattle) since arriving at the port (Oxnard) 10 days ago from Grand Cosmo!
Nice! You will be a good gauge of how quick I can expect mine to move through the VPC and up to Seattle Mini once it arrives on the Sagittarius Leader on Friday. Did you by chance get the blackout beltline trim option? I know that is a port installed option which would be done at the VPC.

No we did not. The only option we added on our base Signature is the roof rails which should be installed at the factory.

My Mini got delivered to the dealer over the weekend after the Heritage Leader docked in Oxnard last Friday. However, they said something about the SOS switch needing to be replaced and reprogrammed, have any of you heard of this? Now I am back to waiting again. They initially called it a recall but it does not show up on the Mini site.

Just pray they're not putting it on a ship to join the MINIs in the UK QC lot!
