Brilliant. This is a much needed mod. Has there been any clouding of the lens from the alcohol in the washer fluid?
None at all. Still going strong and with winter's onset, well appreciated!

This mod gets better with every variation, probably the best one yet...nice jobI want to thank you for doing the heavy lifting to get this to work. I added my own twist to the project. I also have a lease and did not want to drill any holes or leave any evidence of the modification that may be used agents me to void any warranty or get some kind of up charge when the car was returned or just serviced. So my version was to use normally open magnetic reed switch. I opened the button assembly and found the connections on the circuit board. Soldered wires to the connector pcb pins and the reed switch inside the switch assembly. I then mounted the read switch behind the un-used blank switch plate. Re-assembled the button assembly and there is no visible changes to the car. Now swiping a small magnet past the unsuspecting blank switch panel will trigger the mute of the VESS.

Thank you for the complement. Working special effects in the entertainment industry, modifying things is second nature to me.This mod gets better with every variation, probably the best one yet...nice job![]()
Stupid question but how is the negative cap supposed to be installed? My car came back from the service with the cap in the cup holder, and I don't see how to firmly attach to the negative terminal..In response to the reports of the 12 V negative battery cap being missing (fallen down in the motor compartment) or laying on the battery itself after service, this mod costs 5 cents (CDN)
Materials:

Drill 1/4 inch hole side of cap as shown:

Install 8 inch tie wrap loosely to battery handle:

No more cap missing:

The positive one is on hinges so not required.
It would be beneficial to do the above mod (post #152) using the tie wrapStupid question but how is the negative cap supposed to be installed? My car came back from the service with the cap in the cup holder, and I don't see how to firmly attach to the negative terminal..
Edit: never mind, I'm blind. Battery has clear rails where to attach the cap.
Added HEPA cabin air filter. "LUFTT LHC104" is a perfect fit. Bought on Amazon Canada.

There is one on eBay search for "HEPA13 and Kona EV". For me at least it took many weeks to arrive from South Korea, and is a little more expensive.$40? whoa.
An update on this filter....Added HEPA cabin air filter. "LUFTT LHC104" is a perfect fit. Bought on Amazon Canada. search for "LUFTT HEPA Cabin Filter LHC104 - for Hyundai/KIA (97133-F2200 replacement)". Not sure if it works all that well as someone rolled coal in front of me and did smell diesel, but may have been worse without it.
First post here and I have not read the entire thread.
I am getting a 2022 Kona EV Preferred Trim (Canada) at the end of August. I was wondering if anyone installed an artificial FRUNK on the space in the "engine bay" on the passenger side. It looks like it could fit a small container there of some sort
edit: it seems someone is selling something
Coincidentally, I just received the Frunk.at one for my 2021. Fits very snug - they use all the space back to the black plastic trim - and has little locks on the front and no wiggle once it's in place. Takes a week or two to make it to you, so be patient. Gives a decent amount of storage space.
