…the new app pushes status a) when I plug in, b) when charging starts just after midnight, and c) when charging is complete…
In my case I use the "low-cost" charging mode, and have the departure time set for 7:30am. So any notifications wouldn't be sent until around 3am, when I'm sleeping and won't get them. Which is why I had a surprise. Now, since the new app pushes status a) when I plug in, b) when charging starts just after midnight, and c) when charging is complete, I would have to be deliberately unobservant to miss a charging session.

I have the same unit. It has, so far, been flawless. I set the in app reminder to give me a 9 PM heads up if I have not plugged in. And I positioned it so that I only need about 3 feet of cable to plug in. I never have to unloop and loop lengths of cable.
I agree the angle is unintuitive and, hence, awkward. The "glaring" lack of an illuminating LED to make it easier to connect in the dark is also puzzling. Our Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid has an illuminating LED, the angle of the connector is more convenient, and there's no rubber cover that has to be removed because the charging cover lid incorporates the connector cover. It's too bad MINI didn't copy Honda.Maybe it's just me, but the SE's charge socket seems to be at an awkward angle that makes it difficult to align the plug for smooth engagement.
Hi MiniSER - I've seen a backorder for Chargepoint Home Flex for quite some time. What was your order timeline for the Chargepoint? My Mini just got on the boat yesterday so wondering how far in advance I should order a Chargepoint. My ChrargePoint Home is online!

Great to hear! Thanks for letting me know.
About the “Remind Me to Plug In” feature, I enabled it (just to play with) at 9pm as well, but I’ve not received any notifications from it. I chalked it up to not having actually used it to charge yet, but did you have to do anything other than enable the reminder in the ChargePoint app to have it remind you?
Also, have you used the Siri Shortcuts (I believe I recall you said you have an iPhone) to start and stop charging with the ChargePoint Home at all?
Better toA overarching motto in my life: 'no kill like overkill...' second to that would be 'it's better to be looking at it, than looking for it.'
I don't think overbuying on the charger is a waste at all, and if anything, by running something at less than it's max, you tend to build in a bit more reliability.

Well, my Mini should be coming anytime soon, so figured I better get my EVSE. Been watching for a sale on the Grizzl-e, but they stay at $439.
Discovered that the company sells refurbished ones on their website at a reduced price and they are still covered for 3 years under warranty, so I'm good with a refurbished one. Plus I was able to select a regular cable rather than the premium. Should be easier to use and will always be inside in the garage, so did not want the heavier premium one. They are no longer selling new ones with the regular cable.
So here's the link for any one interested:

Ps, apparently they go pretty fast. Yesterday there was 18 with the premium cable and now only 7.
For those interested in a ChargePoint... I ordered mine on 5/20, website said was backordered for 4-5 weeks. It shipped yesterday, so at least in my case the 4 week estimate was pretty accurate. Glad I had the time to spare to order from ChargePoint directly than buy at inflated prices from Amazon/eBay.
I use a J-1772 adapter with my Tesla HPWC every day:I’ve been using TeslaTap for about 9 months, primarily with our long range EV. It is an absolute godsend for non-Tesla EVs.
Tesla deployed L2 “destination chargers” at thousands of hotels around the US. It has made trips that much easier. Even when there is a J1772 option available, the TeslaTap often puts out more power so it has saved a lot of time.
I would check Plugshare and sort by Tesla adapter (not Supercharger, they won’t work for DC chargers) to see how many stations there are in your area.
