Some people are willing to abandon brain cells when they don't want to wait to get what they want. A concept totally lacking in this thread is the willingness to support a local dealer that has served me well for more than 40 years.

I paid MSRP for the 1st Clarity off the truck and MSRP for our new not-to-be-named compact, sporty BEV (which is in very short supply--now a 5-month post-order wait). For me, getting what I want ASAP and supporting my favorite dealer is a better use of my money than, say, visiting a casino (which I have never done).

Brain cells deluded into loyalty and satisfied by quicker gratification? I'm sure most of the posters here would think so.

It is of no concern to me, what other posters think. I’ve never had a boner for a vehicle, new or used, that made me willing to pay the asking price.

More used cars have entered my garage than new. Almost always a different brand each time. I use independent shops for service, other than warranty work. Patronizing a specific dealer would serve no purpose.

A car is little more than a tool used to get from A to B. I don’t need the first one off the boat any more than I need one to make a statement. Christ, I bought a Clarity. Mainly because the net cost was $15K off MSRP.

Bought Clarity Base in Black Color in Oregon. $25,295 + TTL. Dealer gave me instant Oregon Rebate of $2500 to make it: $22,795 ++ TTL.

After Federal Credit, $15,300.

I hope I did good.

That seems like an awesome deal congrats! Looks like we are closing in on one of the cheapest EVs of all time, the only better deal I have seen was the eGolf last year for around 13K after all rebates, but that is a much smaller car and electric only. As much as I think the model 3 is a beautiful car and great concept, they are basically 2.5-3X the cost of the Clarity at this point, and even the cheapest gas only honda fit is just as expensive as the clarity. Enjoy your car, the only downside I have found with it is limited space for larger objects.

Remember, if you have IRA savings, but don't owe enough taxes to take advantage of the $7,500 federal EV tax credit, you can convert regular IRAs to Roth IRAs to increase your taxes. You will then not have to pay taxes when you withdraw from your Roth IRAs. Also, the Roth IRAs are not subject to the Required Minimum Distribution, so you're not forced to start withdrawing at age 70-1/2.

Lucky you. It took almost 10 months to get our $2500 rebate. Partly, because the DMV employee entered the 2 year registration fee for a used car, rather than the 4 year fee for a new car. No one caught the error. After a month or two we received a letter from the DMV stating that we had paid insufficient fees. Mailed the check, got the registration.

Then the clean air committee, which is located in San Diego, sent repeated requests for additional copies or more legible copies of one thing after another. By then, COVID had arrived and threw a wrench in the works.

You got a great deal and the 1/2% new vehicle privilege tax and 4 year registration probably only totals about $500.

Yeah, I didn't want to wait for State Rebate.

I had 3-4 Dealers quoting same price but only one was offering this State Rebate instant. I am hoping at net Out of door price of $15900 for Base, I cannot go wrong.
 
I went with pasadena but westminster was gonna get me the same price. Super happy with the car and extremely happy with the price

Congratulations!!! I got it for $25,300 + TTL (Excluding State Rebate + Federal Credit).

Did you get any Dealer Accessories?

WOW...What an Amazing Deal you got?

My Dealer rejected anything below $25,300. But only reason I went with him as he gave me instant Oregon State Rebate of $2500 (He will claim from State) and I don't need to wait for it.

How are you liking the Car? I am still learning about it.
