Ice won’t be dead until the majority of the car market shifts to EVs. I’m talking over 50% of the market too. We are still in the early adopters phase of the transition.

In the case of hitting th parked truck turns out AP probably wasn't engaged. But all these trash rags just wanted to get paid to reprint lies and even link back to others lies making false claims about accidents involving Tesla The worst kind of shill is the strategic one. They do good analysis until they can be paid a premium for spreading FUD. Lambert has been trying to like back to Alameda like people gave a damn about that- of course they care about the workers but they didn't care about the contingent trying to bankrupt Tesla. With this newest bit of FUD that tries to conjure up former cons with hitting trucks in Florida there are all these shots of the accident from a bunch of different angles. Curious. Then there are two plumes of white wheel smoke prior to impact consistent with a human driver hitting brakes. Guessing this was more stage BS. They were also trying to crowd out headlines of Tesla's sales success. Just like Lambert trying to say Model Y has a demand problems (not saying Tesla can slack- but never does, just the opposite.) Remember Lambert whining that Musk had singled him out as a shill? Typically Lambert does good analysis, he just needs to work on being honest. Lambert was also trying to say he thought it was inevitable Tesla had ads- ads are for sht companies that want to let some useless middlemen get between them and their customers and con both the customer and the manufacturer. Its for companies that outsource there design and understanding and rummaged parts bins like vitamin formularies its for con jobs. Marketing is one thing and Tesla excels at it because its products are super solid and word of mouth is the proper relationship as is direct relationships with end customers. If a product needs to be pushed that is because is crap. It doesn't do ads for the same reason it doesn't do dealers. The people trying to force ads are trying to sabotage the company the same way attempting to force dealers would be. Its an attempt to sabotage and cheat to help weaker failing competitors.

I understand how S curves work. Issue is that the discussion is only around sales instead of proportion of total cars owned and driven. Even if/when sales go to 100% EV, it’s still going to take time for EVs to penetrate the whole market. EV sales are still below 5% in the total market. We are still clearly in the early adoption phase.

It’s going to take more than just Tesla to get there. Tesla is only out selling the high end luxury market. Good for them. Issue is that there isn’t really a decent cheap EV that has enough range and charges fast enough to make EVs accessible to most drivers. The used market is still really small.

And no, the Tesla model 3 isn’t an affordable car for most people. A price of 37k is not cheap for a car and I don’t care how much less scheduled maintenance there is because unscheduled maintenance for Teslas is still really expensive. This is totally fine for people who can afford it and are willing to take that risk on unscheduled maintenance, but most people don’t want that.

You haven't addressed anything as usual because if you'd paid attention Model 3 outsold Honda Civic clearly refuting what you're trying to blather over. Just obvious. So no, move the goal posts doesn't work here. There will be a Model 1 but Tesla's success and the destruction of ICE is not waiting for that. The 3 will continue to come down in price and people who want a 3 aren't going to buy a ICE in the mean time or settle for less they will wait for a used 3. So right there that is nixed ICE sales.

And then you go ad homenim based on criticism of obvious FUD. 'Southern Dude' 'Montana Bumpkin' its a pattern with you right down to the characteristic shill naming choice- shill handlers have to make it easy for employees to recognize each other.
