  2. I come to what might be the time to start ordering just as the weatherman says we are approaching our first over 100 degree day. Whoopee! I might be doing all this in the middle of the night.

Of course you'll be posting before and after photos, right? A photo of all your carefully researched and chosen detailing products would be fun to see, too. If it's not too much trouble, could you track your time for us? It takes me a couple of hours to do just clay and polish. You're taking the process up many levels beyond me.

  5. I will attempt to. I'm not very good at that type of thing, but I found a mount for installing my phone to a tripod so I'll do my best. I still have to get things ordered. Believe it or not even though I'm retired and staying in I still have little spare time. OTOH the house and garage have never looked better!

  7. I am estimating a few days. I need to research when to use IPA so I don't over do it.

Day 1: Spray wash, foam wash, decontaminate. Leave it in the garage overnight.
Day 2: IPA, paint correction, IPA, polish, IPA, ceramic. Leave it in the garage to cure. Assuming this can be done in one day.
Day 3: Nothing. Let it finish curing.
Day 4: IPA. Second coat of ceramic. Leave it in the garage to cure.
Day 5: Nothing. Let it finish curing.
Day 6: Go for a drive and (hopefully) take some pictures of how shiny it is. As long as it's not raining.
Day 7: Start on the inside.
    Day 8: Finish the inside.
    Day 9: Margaritas.
    Day 10: Regret the margaritas.
Day 11: Try to pull together pictures, videos, etc to post.
Day 12: Discover I really am no good at videos, etc.

I'm interested in what you're doing, but I've got to say that just reading your list of supplies is making me tired. :)

  9. I'm exhausted from making it. I have spent hours going over reviews, prices, budget, etc. As a first timer I decided to take as much time as necessary to understand the process and the correct equipment required.

I do not want to screw up the paint on this car.

Besides I'm running out of things to do to the house and garage.

  10. A note for anyone considering buying the AvalonKing ceramic for their car. I ordered tonight and it's $69.99 a bottle. I used the coupon code JASONSGARAGE25 to get $25.00 off. After entering the information to order a screen popped up offering a second bottle for $29.99. Total with shipping for both: $74.98

A sedan the size of the Clarity takes two bottles. Ends up being a good price.

I ordered 13 items from Amazon as well. I have to pick up the Toro power washer from Home Depot. Probably Tuesday since we will be out and about for a doctors appointment. Then one more item from Optimum Polymer. Maybe. It looks like they only use PayPal and I don't. Might be on another hunt.
