What did you do to your MINI today?

And… Sport Plus? Is that a mode of the Pedalbox? Or is there something more I can code with esys?

So the pedal box adjusts throttle sensitivity. I ran it on my previous Audi and really liked how it worked. I figured since the mini is electric it would be even better since there is no turbo or engine lag. Overall from an acceleration perspective it works great, the after portion is what I wasn’t expecting to face with the regen braking.

The pedal box essentially changes the pedal position by connecting into the gas pedal for faster acceleration. It has multiple adjustable settings, Eco, City, Sport, Sport + and Valet mode. You can further adjust each mode up or down by three increments to further fine tune.

I liked the DTE, they just released a new version with a cordless remote. Pics below.

Took mine to a driver skills course on Saturday, it was a great time and the mini was excellent. We moved in small groups between a few stations. Figure 8 and autocross were the most fun, got the Hankooks to scream louder than I’ve ever heard and got plenty of fun oversteer.

The only mildly disappointing part was the wet skid pad, without a handbrake I was left with trying to oversteer by cranking the wheel and quickly letting off the throttle with regen on high to try to lighten up the rear wheels. My buddy’s Model 3 was even more disappointing at that station, without the ability to turn off DSC it simply drove in quiet circles LOL

I originally tested with a piece of painters tape on the strut and some hard driving but am still slightly anxious about my new tires rubbing somewhere.

Checked again last night and still no rubbing but close enough for the rear tire "whiskers" to leave a mark in the dust on the trailing arm!

Stupid ball seat OZ wheels are making it very difficult to find a solution for a slightly thicker spacer. The only fine thread ball seat lugs that exist seem to be the ones I already have and they aren't long enough...

I found a Model 3 using the J1772 special edition ghost cables and I thought I'd join in on the fun. I also made extra sure not to walk between our vehicles as to not damage the paint and clearcoat.

Finally decided to let the stock Hankook tires go at 28.5k miles, they were down to less than 2/32". Was gonna stretch them to 30k miles but a rainy day changed my opinion on siping... It's been awhile since I've got caught in the rain on slicks lol.

Replaced with 195/55-16 Continental Purecontact LS. Wanted to go with an all-season tire instead of the usual summer/winter sets I usually run. Found that these show similar rolling resistance to Pirelli P7's and are about 1lb heavier than the stock tires, so hoping efficiency doesn't take too big a hit. Supposed to be good for 70k miles. We'll see about that.

Only driven 10 miles on them so far so no review yet. But the ride home was good, no bad impressions, I think quieter than stock, turn-in seems sharper as well so maybe stiffer sidewall than stock as the hankooks are soft. I'll have to report back after they scrub in a bit and hit the corners a bit harder.

After rebates, these cost me $561 installed. Can't complain about that.

We had non-LS purecontacts on my ex's Vibe. Good tyres. Pretty Low rolling resistance and decent all year grip. Like Michelin, it's hard to go wrong with Contis. Keep us updated on them. I thought that the sidewalls were soft. It still did great on corners, though.
