lol mine is Island Blue Metallic with piano black trim, and black roof and (originally) mirrors. But in another, busy forum I posted the link to the InsideEVs first-look review of the J01 featuring the yellow SE, and this was one of the responses:

I think they’re called ‘ghost stripes’ which were standard on the Electric Collection. I am not sure, however, if they can be purchased separately - I would imagine so?

Nice!

Chile Red, black roof here. Was always more of a blue/grey, metallic car guy but this thing reached out from the dealer’s website, seared itself to my eyeballs and dragged me right in. When it’s sitting in the sun, clean and sparkly it seems like something from another dimension. “Red” just doesn't seem to cover it….

There are only 150 SEs left nationwide. They are all looking soulfully for prospective owners (like cats in a pound looking for new owners).

That Chile Red looks quite sharp! Wave to the next MINI that you see!

MINI's Chili Red is one of the best car reds I've ever seen, which is a big reason why Météore is my second Chili Red MINI. :)

(My first ever MINI was a Chili Red R55 Clubman S.)

IMG_4773.webp It’s interesting about the wave. I’m hyper aware of every Mini that comes towards me, ready to flash a hearty wave or at least an uber casual cool lift of a few fingers off the wheel in acknowledgement. I’d say I’m running at about 20% when it comes to seeing other Mini drivers similarly notice me and wave. When I drove a classic VW camper through the mountains of western Canada years ago, we’d all practically fall out of our windows waving to each other. It’s seems it’s a more insular world these days sadly.

I'd think there would be a group of prospective MINI Cooper SE customers noting the new US tariffs excluding the J01 from being imported and jumping on these last few cars--especially with the discounts some dealers are offering. However, it appears that everyone who wanted this lightweight, sporty EV already has one.

Now that software-phobic VW has pushed back the next e-Golf to 2029, it appears the hot EV hatch will be a scarce commodity on these shores for some time to come.

I got an email just a couple weeks ago from my dealer asking if I’d be interested in a cash offer of between $14-$17K for our SE. That seems like a boat load of depreciation for a 2021 with ~72K km on it. Wonder what they’d try to get for it back on the lot.
