2019 Chevrolet Volt gets faster charging - New system cuts total charging time in half

Evidently Chevrolet noticed that people enjoyed recharging their Clarity PHEVs in just over 2 hours. Autoweek reports the Volt will get a new 7.2 kW charger to reduce a full recharge from 4.5 hours to 2.3 hours.

I think it's standard in the Premier, optional in the LT. (The premier gets a power seat). It will be interesting if Chevy dealers drop the 2018 Premier price before the 2019 comes out

It doesn't seem right to make people buy a higher trim level to get a decent recharging time.

That was one reason I fled from the Volt. By the time I added up all the "packages" I'd need just to get the few things I really wanted to have, the cost became astronomical. If I'm spending that much for a hot and loaded vehicle anyway …
