Visiting a suburban district in Shenzhen alley Longgang. In one random mega mall they have so many luxury EVs. This one mall has AITO, Tesla, NIO, Li, and some other brand I forgot. Quite interesting. The biggest change to me since I last visited in 2017 isn’t the EVs, but electric scooters. They are everywhere now since gas scooters were banned before. Half of these scooters seem to be doing food delivery. I mean when the delivery fee is $1 USD and lunch is $4 why not. A lot of these scooters are under $300 and I’m tempted to get one…One thing that I’m kind of confused about is charging infrastructure though. At least where I’m staying, the condos don’t have any charging and I rarely see public charging. I asked a NIO store about it and of course I forgot they at least said you can battery swap. Brands that stick out to me are BYD for the more luxury looking ones and how all fleet/taxis/busses are BYD, Zeeker, LI, xpeng, aito, NIO . 6 years ago I remember BYD used to give public factory tours but it seems that’s still closed for now.

What brand is the car above? It reads Aviju for me, but I've never heard of it. The logo looks super familiar, though.

Oh actually found a few chargers in my condo but they were all ICEd. I only really found one EV in the lot. A beighbhor who has a LI also has a maybach. Honestly the most hard thing for a foreigner would be paying…. For anything . They don’t take cars or cash here anymore. You need wechat pay or sometimes Alipay works. And you might need a Chinese phone number to even set that up.
