Vehicle returned by production number is different than the vehicle I ordered

Booked the car 2 months ago. The salesperson promised to keep me updated but didn't. So I contacted the sales manager and the manager gave me a production number.

However, when I try to track the production using the production number given by the manager, it turns out to be a quite different car than I ordered -- a different color and trim, but still a Mini SE.

Is it normal or something fishy is going on...

Either they made mistakes on your order or they provided wrong number.

I think some allocations get batch production numbers. You may have to wait for production to begin to get a VIN.

Thanks all! I contacted the dealer and they indeed gave me the wrong production number. The updated production number turns out match what I ordered.
