Hi all, I have a 2019 twin engine volvo xc60 with a mennekes charger mode 2. Just moved to a new house, and the dealer advised me to just add a 13a socket with 18a wiring.

The issue I'm facing is that the charger overheats after about 30 minutes, causing the charger to downthrottle to 6a. I tried using another normal 13a socket with 13a wiring, and the same thing occurs, albeit after about an hour instead of 30 minutes.

Any ideas?

Their information on their site at the link below states that it draws up to 16 Amps, so it would need a minimum of a 20 Amp circuit for a continuous draw at 16 Amps to be safe. Anything less can result in overheating and dangerous conditions.
