Yeah I could unplug it and I have tried that. I don't mind the space ships sound when driving. My biggest problem is the backup beeping early in the morning or in the evening.
I have a neighbor 2 doors down with a hybrid Honda with vess. I can hear every move that car makes from inside my house. They also have a 3/4 ton Duramax that I never hear.
I was able to get two pieces of gorilla tape over the speaker with one hand somehow. That has helped.
