Just got my 2020 Kona EV a few days ago, and I'm trying to understand navigation. Here are my questions/concerns:

1) First, I find it perplexing that the navigation system doesn't get addresses from my phone when connected via bluetooth. It only gets phone numbers. So, it works for making calls, but not for navigating to an address.

2) So, I figured out how to jump through multiple hoops and manually build the .kml files necessary for importing into My Places. I successfully imported my hand-built address book, and all my contacts/addresses are showing up in My Places. Here's where I get confused...

3) How can I search for one of my contacts/My Places in the nav system? They don't show up when typing a name in the address field of the map...The only way I can find to see them is to press the Nav button, then go to My Places. But, once there, I can't see a way to search for a name. I have hundreds of addresses...Do they really expect me to scroll with my finger on the touchscreen to find a contact/address? That's crazy.

It really seems Hyundai want us to use Android Auto for navigation. The built-in navigation makes it nearly impossible to use the hundreds of already-existing addresses on my phone.

What am I missing?

I have started using the voice controls to set the destination - with mixed results. Sometimes it gets it right the first time, sometimes it was laughably wrong. But it would offer you choices, and if it messed up, you could tell it that none of them were right.

Regarding contacts in your phone, I don't know why it is the way it is.

Yep ... That seems to be the way it works. I had precisely/the same issue/complaint. When I contacted Hyundai, they told me only the PHONE numbers of Contacts are uploaded. Stupid !! And so BASIC IMHO. I've been using the BlueLink feature to SEND POI Address to the car. It's kind of a PITA, but it does work. I've also become used to using Voice recognition to "NAV to address" ... It seems to work about 90% of the time.
