Has anyone ever mounted a tow point on their Kona? In the owner's manual it states the vehicle was not designed to tow. My towing needs are rather light - just on occasion, 300lbs and under, and a less than 6' trailer. I'm not trying to tow another vehicle behind me or use the car for delivering cinder blocks. The manual states the car supports something like 800lbs for passengers and luggage.

Again, like a roof rack, I just want to use my car like I would any other car.

Hi In Australia you can have the fist or refreshed kona 2019--2023 rated to tow 988kg,people tow small caverans etc here in Australia with them, the new Kona electric is Tow rated in the handbook and the petrol tow bar fits all modes Jim

I pulled a 1450 pound camper with 2021 Kona on somewhat hilly roads without any issue, but the range dropped a lot. Car handled great and had lots of power including hills. Since here in Canada the car wasn't rated for towing, I only did that a few hundred kilometers.

I bought my 2019 Kona under the restriction that the car must not be used for towing, nevertheles it has a towing bar with a frontal protrusion on the ball that inhibits connecting a caravan , it can just take a bike rack on it. My dealer didnt tell me exactly why, only that the car wasn't designed fot towing and left me wondering what could go wrong: tearing the body apart, overheating the motor when going downslope, anything more?
