Things to know when picking up our Kona Electric

Congrats on the new car! Did the dealership stick to the price and have it fully charged and lights adjusted properly for you?!! I did the drive from Burnaby to Kelowna in June, didn't know what to expect and the hills and speed really take a chunk out of the range! Luckily I only had to stop once and charge up to 80%.
On the way back, there is one fast charger in West Kelowna, but I decided to forgo that one to see if I could make it further. I made it up to Merritt and paid for fast charging while having a coffee and exploring a city I haven't been to in ages. I'd still rather pay for charging then having to keep the heat off!! Good thing with fast chargers is you don't need to charge for too long! When you do use a Fast Charger, most people only charge to 80%. The charge rate slows down past this and as common courtesy!

Thanks! We are liking it so far. Dealership stuck to the price, had a full charge and they looked at the lights, but more adjustments are needed. I got flashed about 4 or 5 times while driving home after dark. Honestly there is very little difference in regular headlights vs the high beams on this car.

We took the long way home to avoid the snow on the coquihalla. So we took hwy 1 to cache creek then over to kamloops and through to Kelowna that way.

Yes the hills and highway speeds really kill the range. I was able to follow some cars and have the cruise control on most of the way. We charged to 80% in hope then charged again in cache creek, but only to about 70%. Had we charged to 80% we would have been fine to make it home without turning off the heat.

I was fine with paying for charging as well, but the wife said no... so she got to be cold! I think next time she would just pay for it.

I also noticed little difference between the regular headlights and the high beams for the longest time, and I was being flashed regularly. After reading some of the posts here and learning how to adjust the headlights, I did just that. Since then (a few weeks ago) I haven't been flashed at all, and now there's a VERY noticeable difference when I put the high beams on. It seems my headlights (and it sounds like yours) were aimed at a similar level to the high beams. No wonder people kept flashing me!
