Hi Y'all,

I've just read a bit about this little EV truck and I'm posting this here for 2 reasons: 1) Jalopnik said it was the same length as a MINI Cooper at 152 inches and I said "nah, couldn't be", so Looked up the length of my F56 and, oops, yes, it's 152.8 inches. Wow, that's some interesting packaging to give it a 60 inch bed. 2) Supposedly, it can have a 106kW battery, over 3x that in our MINIs. That's also some interesting packaging.

What say you lot?

cheers

500 HP--you got the size right, but you forgot the MT1's 500 HP motor! The rear seats fold and a mid-gate opens to accommodate 4x8' sheets of building materials.

The first big question is does Telo have enough money to get this vehicle built? The second big question is if there's a market for a tiny 500 HP truck? I guess it will depend on the price, as always. Lastly, with that cab-forward design, can the MT1 provide crash-protection for the front-seat occupants?

I've always thought it strange when people compare the size of something to a Mini (usually some variety of spacecraft). I've seen a zillion news articles that compare the Telo to a Mini (and have not included them in my Mini news column). Why don't they compare the Telo to a VW bus (or Buzz)?

Real world crash safety and battery manufacturing/assembly is still TBD (computer simulated atm). Now if someone could infiltrate the Aria Group Inc. R&D center in Traverse City, MI, we might be able to get answers.

Electrek: Hands on and first ride in TELO’s tiny electric truck that’s as big as a Mini

Some interior photos (which don't impress me), but there are actual photos with the Telo M1 next to an F56 SE, as well as a Dodge RAM 2500.

(Edit: whoa, this forum seems to have gotten a major image posting upgrade, hope these aren't too big for everyone.)

lol I posted this in another EV forum a couple of days ago after the Telo media blitz:

While I was more attracted to the overall appearance of the Canoo, if Telo can ship the MT1 by the end of next year, and keep the price under fifty grand, I'll give it a look. Might not have the Fisker name (which was never worth much anyway), but it has a solid pedigree and backers, and a vision that's quite the opposite of that which helped both Canoo and Fisker tank.

After watching the video the interior is even more of an issue. This seems like an ATV cab, not something I'd want to drive as a road vehicle for daily use.

It's a pre-production model. It honestly doesn't look much different from any number of non-luxury cars and trucks. Looks nicer than most Taco interiors, tbh.

How about a three wheeled electric truck?
As an ugly contraption to be electric 3 wheeler with 100 lbs of load this was better 125 years ago only 2 HP and unlimited load weight and free kWh only meadow’s with grass This 3 wheeler is not any progress in technology on top of this driving through fields an angry bull seeing RED can tip that tricycle an injured you badly IMG_1984.webp

And somebody said 500 HP you tip that car on an exit to highway doing 30 miles/hr as in SE you do 70 miles/hr and you good and they collect $ 152 for preorder sound like shady company like Solyndra with $535 million federal loan bankrupt in 2011

You're almost correct. It's not a hood scoop. It's a duct. A "grille" is the thing that keeps leaves and cats from entering the duct.
