TESLA OWNER LOYALTY DROPS BELOW FORD
Tesla used to have some of the most loyal customers but not anymore. According to S&P Global Mobility, Tesla dropped 9 percentage points compared to a year ago, falling to number two in U.S. brand loyalty in the second quarter behind Ford. S&P analysts say that Tesla’s aging lineup along with CEO Elon Musk’s controversial political activity turned customers away from the brand in big numbers. Perhaps more surprisingly, a lot of people that leave Tesla aren’t choosing another electric. About 30% of them are going to gasoline and hybrid vehicles. And worrying for Tesla is that its slide shows no signs of turning around in the U.S. Through July sales declined 8% to just under 321,000 vehicles.​

I am so tempted to "short" TSLA but I have other bills to pay.

Well, TSLA keeps going up lately, defying all conventional logic. There is no way I can predict where it is going...

But be careful about making stock trading decisions based on emotions. Loyalty can be surprisingly fickle, both ways. Right now it is easy not be loyal with Tesla, just based on their product offering compared to the competition. When/if that is fixed, TSLA could be in favour again. And esp if robotaxi and robots take off.

I wonder what percentage of charge $ tesla gets from other cars using its supercharger network? Is it possible a good chunk of revenue is hidden 'at the plug' ?

Good question, I wonder if they publish that in their financials. It should help, with better utilization/revenue of their fixed costs. We know they lost a lot of EV credits paid to them by their competitors.
