Tesla largely responsible for slide in US home solar sales: Report

I had no idea that SolarCity had such a large share of the home solar market that Tesla changing its business plan -- which it really needed to so, since SolarCity was losing money and headed for bankruptcy -- would actually result in a decline in U.S. home solar installations. Really, that change single-handedly made that much change in the market?

I keep reading that home solar installations are growing in an exponential fashion. If just one company temporarily withdrawing from the market would cause that big a drop in home solar installations, then IMHO that calls into question just how fast the market is growing.

Color me puzzled.
