Spark EV battery packs discontinued

Just read a similar story about a couple that bought their granddaughter a used Ford Focus EV. The car died and they were informed that it needed an entirely new battery. Cost of battery was $17K but the biggest problem is that the battery used in the Focus EV is discontinued. Now their purchase was a waste of money.

except this story was incorrect. GM is still supplying the batteries, it was just supply constrained.
 
Then if the story is incorrect, why has Chevy been telling me for the last ten weeks that my Spark EV battery can not be replaced? No batteries available and none in the foreseeable future.
 
Quite the first post you got there... Also GM confirmed that it's a supply issue not a discontinuation of warranty repairs.

You could always search copart or rockauto.
