We have the Signature trim, the lines are present.
I did that with no luck, the options are disabled. When you're in reverse, hit the options button on the iDrive system and you can turn the lines on.
Wow, that sucks. I thought those were default features (it's just a software thing), but I could be wrong.I neither could turn the lines on nor could change the brightness/contrast while in reverse, those options are grayed out on my signature trim. Is that expected?

Definitely not, I can access both of those settings on my signature.
It may be that you are blocked from changing them while the car is actually in reverse. Try putting the car in reverse to bring up the camera, then put it back in park and try changing the settings before the camera goes away
Good point, gave that a shot but no luck. I think, it’s either a software glitch or victim of chip shortage?

I just confirmed on mine that I can change the settings with the car in reverse. Just to confirm, you are clicking left on the iDrive knob then scrolling up and down to select the setting and it says "contrast" just greyed out?
That’s right, I’m able to scroll up and down across those three options but pressing iDrive knob to select one of them does nothing.

Just want to update this post. I took my SE Sig trim yesterday to the dealer and told them about the Rear-View camera options not being operational. Options for Brightness, Contrast and Parking aid lines are there but doesn't do anything when you select them. I don't even have parking aid lines showing on my rearview camera so it's just like I bought a 3rd party camera. Sucks. Here is what the dealer said this morning: "We tried to program your car. Buttons for rear camera still inoperable. Mini engineering was contacted. They are having a issue with this and this is under investigation. They are currently trying to work on a remedy..."
Anyone in here with the same issue able to get this resolved?
Have you been reading the Bimmercode thread? Bimmercode can make your wish come true if you're willing to mess with your SE's brain. My lines are there on my SE picked up in January. As for the rear parking sensors, I would gladly give them up. Our garage door opening is really tight and they make a racket when I am pulling out and are useless for keeping me from hitting anything. Basically crying wolf. They are nice for backing into a street and a car is coming. Wish there was an option to turn them off and on at will.
I'm not ready to reprogram my SE--unless someone finds an AM radio hidden inside--so you'll have to ask one of the Bimmercode experts on that thread how the back-up sensor alarm can be turned on and off.I did scan the thread and I looked into the list of options but was never sure it would change it. May try it now. Can you set it to be turned on and off on the numbered options?
Doesn't this switch actively turn them on/off?My lines are there on my SE picked up in January. As for the rear parking sensors, I would gladly give them up. There was a similar button in my i3 that I would press to turn the parking sensors off when I didn't need them (like drive-thru windows/etc).
