A few month ago I found the name of the Japanese company that supplies the LI batteries for the Clarity. Don't remember the name now, but the battery pack they supplied had a max voltage per cell of 3.6 volts. I am guessing the 3.6 level allows the battery to not be harmed if it is at max charge and the temperature drops.
