Surprising update: today I was assigned a VIN and production number and my vehicle goes into production May 5th and it's the SE base model that I originally ordered. He asked me if I wanted to keep the original and I said yes. So it looks like I may have gotten one of the few allocated SE base models. My motoring advisor was very surprised! And so was I!

Now I'm just bitter lol

Don't be - maybe the same situation happened with you. I literally signed a new buyers' order, then I got this notification. It could be they just haven't reached out to you yet.
Not so far. I suspect they are pushing the last of the base models thru. Its fine, I'm fine, just find it all humorous lol

Anxiety is high in this thread. I put $500 down February 5th, the day they opened the 2023s up. Nothing was put in because the store was waiting for the system to let them order blue.

There was my correspondence with the #1 guy at MiniUSA on February 25th that got a quick reply, but the system still didnt allow blue to be ordered for the SE.

Then on March 10th I put an order in on the website, and put $250 down for a gray one.

Then they opened up blue and my salesman changed it from gray to blue.

Here we are 10 weeks after my $500 and i got nothing. I am not too worried, but the state rebate drops next year. The good news is I should have a 23 before 23.

I agree. I really went through the proverbial fire drill on this one, hearing this news of a likely cancellation, driving out and rushing to update an order, then finding out that I have a production # and VIN as of this AM.

Seems like folks are getting better than expected news on Mini SE orders. I didn't hear anything on mine for the first 2 months. They may be building them faster now than they were this winter.

Guilty! Yes I am guilty of the same anxiety i tried to dismiss a measly two hours ago.

The red SE was in production when i put $$ down on it. I traced it though the birth canal to the panama canal to oxnard, and said i wont do that again.

I texted my salesguy after the last post, and he gave me a screenshot. Our "baby blue baby" is in utero. Production started today 4/14 at 10:56 AM.

Want to guess who will be calling the 800 number every day now. Bwahahaha!

No heated steering wheel. $100 credit to buy gloves instead. Bummer. I liked the heated wheel (when I could find the switch I called Delores) and bun toasters instead of using the heater.

I'm usually not one for heated seats and the like, but I've been enjoying the heated steering wheel. My wife's Model 3 has an optional upgrade for rear heated seats and steering wheel for $300 available for "purchase" (it's there, but you have to pay to activate it) through the app.

Sounds like ours went into production on the same day. Did you get assigned a VIN at the same time? I logged in to the My Mini Garage app with the production # they gave me, and it showed me a VIN, and they told me that my build date would be on 5/5/2022.

It seems dumb that I’ve had a production number for three full weeks and not a single way to get any kind of updates north of the 45th parallel. My MA, who was very communicative during the sale and up until the point he sent me that number, is now very hard to reach, taking days to get back to me just to tell me he has no info, or “will get back to” me with info about dealer-installed accessories.

Speaking of north of the 45th parallel, @SameGuy, since you joined this forum, I've wondered where in Canada YUL is, so I looked it up. The answer was more technical than I expected: Airport codes beginning with Y were reserved for Canada and, in the case of Montréal-Trudeau, the remaining two letters – U and L – correspond to the frequency emitted by the radio beacon in Kirkland, near Dorval. Thus, the code indicates that the airport is in Canada, near the Kirkland beacon. Googling the Kirkland beacon, I found it's an antenna a few miles west of the Montreal airport (YUL), broadcasting a 248-kHz (UL) beacon signal. Perhaps I was the only member curious enough to wonder what YUL meant, but if anyone else is interested, here's the Kirkland beacon that supplies 2/3 of YUL's initials. But further investigation revealed the longwave beacon was to be turned off August 12th 2021.
