Scout production pushed back to 2028

I suspect VW figured out they'd have to charge even more for the Scout than the ID.Buzz, which would make it D.O.A.

Delay, then delete is what happened to Porsche's nearly production-ready 718 Boxster and Cayman EVs. Will the same happen to the Scout?
 
There's a lot of hype for the scout, and they've taken pre-orders for the harvester package en masse. I can't see them backing out now.
Odds are, the factory build out just isn't ready.

It's easy to promise a cool vehicle and then rake in $100 reservations en masse. After VW announces a higher-than-expected price-tag for the Scout, many of those reservations will turn into refunds.

Then, when PO'd VW dealers start spreading rumors claiming owners will have to take their Scouts to Blythewood, South Carolina, for service...
