Removing external speaker

Has anyone removed the external speaker for the pedestrian warning system? I know some have coded it out and others warn of legal and insurance issues, but after seeing it in a video I think I might opt to remove it . The one I saw was at the rear of the car. Is there another one at the front?. The video was by Munro live.

The video shows the underside of the car . The speaker looks pretty bulky . I have not seen pictures or exact location of the one up front.my question is the wire hard wired to the speakers tying into a wiring harness at some point or do they connect at the speaker so as to be easily disconnected?

Personally, I would never consider such a thing. You're basically accepting 100% liability if your car ever hits someone, and I would not be surprised if tampering with a pedestrian safety system is an 'out' for your insurance, too.

It's so easy to code out, why would you even want to physically remove it? Personally I just coded the check box into the central information display so I can select to turn it off, such as when backing into my garage after the graveyard shift, or when pulling up to a border post crossing into the States or back into Canada. Then I simply programmed one of the hot buttons so it's a simple one-touch affair.

If you unplug either the front or rear speaker, it throws a CEL.
I'd guess you could simply replace the speaker with a resistor to fool the SE.

That video is from Matt Shumaker (primarily a Tesla driver and maker of aftermarket products for Teslas), the first YouTuber with an SE. He said he'd never sell it because his son loved it and wanted to buy it.

Nope. Last year Matt said the trade-in value of his SE was so great that it made financial sense to trade it in when he bought a new MINI Countryman SE PHEV for his wife. I wonder if his son is still driving his Smart EV, wishing Dad had sold him the MINI Cooper SE?

Well I'll forgive Matt for ditching the full BEV for PHEV if he makes the trip from Illinois to St. Ignace, MI this weekend for MINI on the Mack. I mean his wife has to drive to MN to see family so why not visit The Bridge and be a Yooper for a couple of days.
