Regenerative Braking

The user manual has this section:
SMART REGENERATION SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED WITH SMART CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)
According to the manual it's activated in the "convenience" settings.
I don't think that my Limited version has "smart cruise control."

Another difference between my Kona and what's been described in this thread is that I have an additional mode called "Eco+" which de-activates the AC and limits top speed to 56 mph. Not planning on using this mode much.

I believe every Kona EV has Eco+, just no one uses it

One good reason to go for the deluxe model. Smart regeneration/recuperation is one of the most brilliant features of the car. I have it at a default level of 1 to enjoy the benefits of gradual slowing, and it does most of the work of responding to traffic.

In Canada both the Preferred and Limited models have:
"Adaptive Cruise Control with traffic stop and go"
Is that the same as "Smart" Cruise control? (I see no reference to "Smart" CC in the brochure)
And does that mean that Smart regen exists in both Canadian models?

Sounds like it to me.

What exactly it does the auto regen (smart regen) ? It seems to activate while there is a car in front of me (not on the highway or using the CC)

I always use it. It's really one of the best features.
It automatically increases Regen when you get closer to the car in front of you.
