I think the heated steering wheel is overrated for the SE anyway (even though it works well, I tried one in a loaner). 10-15 minutes of climatization, which you can activate from the app before you go anywhere, and the interior of the car is so comfortable you don't need a heated steering wheel. I think heating the steering wheel is a holdover idea from the ICE way of doing things.
i disagree. a light jacket, heated wheel and bun toasters on a chilly morning and i didnt need the heater at all. Since i dont have a place to plug in at the office i repeated the process on the way home.

moreover, i dont like wearing hats or gloves, so a warm wheel on a chilly day was nice.

Five minutes of heating the steering wheel is perfect for outside temps under 20F, and by then the seats are warm enough to turn both off. Those of us who choose to live in cooler climates appreciate the little things.

I’ve never owned a car with a heated steering wheel. When I lived in WI, I did have a snowblower with heated hand grips. That was a lifesaver so many times on early mornings clearing the driveway so I could go to work. Now I live in San Diego and never think about snowblowers or heated steering wheels. My SE is coming with the credit for the heated steering wheel which is fine for me.

FYI at least right now there is no option for an OEM or aftermarket alarm system install after the fact. This is my first car without an alarm. I love my SE but I do miss the audio feedback when I lock/unlock my doors.

Yea - I've found myself missing the audible alert as well. Bummer that there isn't an option for it without the alarm at all.

I always turn off the audible alert. If you really want to you could code in folding mirrors on lock for visual reference.

Having had an after-market alarm in the past, I'm perfectly content to hear only that comforting "click" when I push the button on the handle.

100%. Trash neighbors, five shitboxes shared among the four adults, all have alarms, and their friggin alarms go off almost every night.

We got a 2012 Mini Cooper S for our daughter in March after our VW Rabbit got written off. It took a bit to get accustomed to no beep when locking since VW’s do. Now I think I’ll be ok without it on our new SE but it would have been a nice option.
