Quick and Dirty Rear Window Shelf Temperature Measurement

So, to tag onto this thread, Inside EVs has a post about the speed with which the Tesla 3 will bring down the cabin temp using the remote climate command. Has anyone done a test with our car? Would be helpful to the community to know how far in advance we should initiate the remote climate system based on given outside conditions.

I've been thinking about that very thing, recently. I considered having the windows tinted, but the Clarity heats or cools the car so rapidly, rather than spend almost $500 on tinting, why not just scheduled the Climate control to start a few minutes before we expect to drive off, during extreme hot or cold temps. I know it wouldn't be absolutely reliable, in case our departure is delayed, or we leave early, but worst case, it shuts down after 30 minutes, so it wouldn't run the battery down to nothing in that unusual circumstance.

I haven't run any tests, yet, but I'm pretty confident it could cool or heat the car interior adequately within 5 minutes.
