PSA: Time to Pump Up Your Tires!

Checked my tires yesterday, all 4 tires needed about 2-3 PSI to get them back up to 36 PSI. I do wish my Clarity had the same dashboard display showing a graphic overview of the vehicle with PSI readings at each tire that is on our Jeep Cherokee.
 
I did have the Clarity's system detect the pressure loss from a nail in my left front tire, so its not completely worthless.

I was keeping my tires at 36 psi, but the OEM tires were bald on the centerline at 30,000 miles. My Clarity is normally running lightly loaded with just me and some luggage.

I have reduced my target pressure to 34 psi.
 
Has anyone found that the tire pressure indicator stays on even after filling tires to correct pressure?

I'm another fan of the add-on valve cap TPMS system. These things are cheap, like $20. I bought one on Ebay that has the small solar panel on it. Stick the monitor on the dash to the left of the steering wheel and under the windshield enough to keep it charged with daylight. Never needs power from USB. Automatic shut off at night and turns on based on sound of the door opening (I think that's what seems to activate it anyway). Anyway, had mine about 6 months now and no issues whatsoever...

Is that the one you need to remove the sensor with a wrench every time you need to pump air into the tire?

The free spinning “anti-theft” device can be removed so just the smaller, lighter sensor is used. There are also “flow thru” sensors that can be left on the valve stem while air is added. They are slightly larger. Both styles are pressure sealing caps, so should a valve stem ever fail to reseat after adding air the cap will prevent air from leaking out the stem.
