Aptera has been dropping images of various parts either installed or ready to install on one of the PI builds:

Can't wait to spot an Aptera with that unique lighting approaching at night. On the east coast, people will assume it's a low-flying drone.

Also visible on the right is the gas strut of the driver's door; On the upper left is the lateral coil-over shock absorber and center-left is the drive shaft.

I wonder if and where the lateral coil-over shock absorber design has been used before? How often will the bearing in that L-bracket need servicing? Will that bracket be the first component to break when an Aptera hits a curb or giant pothole at speed?

It's quite common in Formula 1 cars and other sports cars derived from racing cars - like the Ariel Atom and the Lamborghini Aventador. I suppose we'll find out what will break first when Aptera starts their crash testing program...

Thanks. Once again, I'm impressed by your knowledge of both Aptera and automotive engineering in general. I'd never seen that setup before, but glad to know there are predecessors for Aptera to study.
