Hi,

Recent and continued increases in gasoline prices is going to make EV demand even higher. That means higher prices and longer delays.

I suspect many of the current manufactures plan to increase the number of EVs produced by at least 50%. It's not enough, but it should help some.

Note that both GM and SK innovation have new battery plants coming on line in the USA this year. Tesla should be ramping up the the Fremont battery facility and maybe even get the Austin facility up and running too.

The bottleneck in shipping is slowly easing in California and that should help with parts.

Plus, there is the possibility of suspending the federal gas tax of 18.4 cents, and a lot of places the price of gas is still under $3.50 per gallon.

Also, many folks are still working from home.

So it's not all gloom and doom. I don't see it getting as bad as the 1970's

In the 70's I built an EV out of an old Renault Dalphine while in graduate school. Only went about 30 miles on lead acid batteries I scavenged from a golf cart. Never did have to buy gas during the odd even days of rationing.
