What type of charging do you use at home?

BC has had a rebates on these as well as municipal as well. I received $500 off mine (in 2013) as well as municipal $250 was offered (but they ran out of funds). Right now not to sure what is offered other than Zap BC

I wish we had those rebates here.. I would have gotten the Juicebox.

I don't think we currently have any rebates on chargers.

Its not really that bad for a made in Canada UL certified EVSE which you can return to Costco no questions asked pretty much forever for roughly $650 in US dollars. Keep in mind the cheaper EVSE like your Mustart are Chinese origin with a manufacturer's CE self certification and questionable support. There is a reason they are cheaper, I am not saying one or the other is better but you rolls your dice and takes your chances.

Based on hundreds of customer reviews, the Mustart gets a very high rating. That's why I bought it.

Lets be honest, I suspect you bought it because it was cheaper and it seemed to represent a better value over North American made product at a 30 to 50% premium.
I'm not judging you. I own a Chinese EVSE as well but its important for people new to EVs and looking for an EVSE to understand what the extra couple of hundred dollars buys you. To be frank its the effort the North American companies went through to get proper certification which is not cheap and not insignificant. I await the day any of these cheap Chinese EVSE gets an UL rating and can continue to sell their product for less than their NA counterparts. If that product already exists that's the one you should consider.

Interestingly, the same exact ESVE, branded differently but clearly the same unit (same display, same LED location, same size) has the UL certification for a similar price ($20 more than what I paid for the MUSTART)

Not quite, they claim the plastic they use meets the flame resistant UL 94 standard, there is not indication that the device in its entirety is UL listed or recognized product.

Where does it say that? All I see is the following quote in the description: EV charger is certified UL,ACM,UKAS,TÜV Rheinland
 
I was originally contemplating installing a Level 2 charger at home. However, the Level 1 charger was doing a fine enough job keeping me topped off. My town also has free Level 2 chargers at various municipal lots that I've used repeatedly. Lastly, just found out that my company is installing Level 2 chargers. Saw them digging the trenches the other day. Woo Hoo! Think I'll hold off on installing anything at home and save myself some money.
