Passing Clarity to daughter at 130,000 miles, things to check?

Hi all,

After years of stellar service, we decided to go full EV, and have replaced our 2018 Clarity with a 2023 Kia EV6. I'm going to deliver it to our daughter in a couple of weeks. I want to have it checked out before I do that. The only major service that we have had done is changing the transmission fluid at about 90,000 miles. What should I be checking for? I'm planning on bringing it to a Honda dealer, but I don't want them telling us we have to do a dozen unnecessary things. Thanks for any advice, I don't know much about car maintenance. The car currently shows the A17 message wish I believe indicates that a brake fluid flush is necessary?

Should I tell the dealer that I'm looking to sell it and want it checked out before I do?

Not much service required for the car. The A17 means change the oil, rotate the tires, and do a brake fluid flush. I'd probably let them do the brake fluid flush since you are giving it to your daughter. If the battery is holding up ok (at least 35 - 40 miles of range) and no check engine lights on the dash, I wouldn't worry about anything else. The dealer can check for any oil leaks, coolant leaks, etc, but I'd be surprised if they find anything. If your car is similar to mine, less than 1/3 of the miles are on the gas engine. If you haven't changed the 12V battery, I'd probably do that as well before it leaves your home. I guess, also if you haven't changed the cabin air filter and the engine air filter, I'd do those as well.

Thanks Robert. I have never done anything with the brakes. I of course know why that is, but after 130,000 miles, maybe that's due? What is a reasonable price for that?

Just got the report from them via text. They recommend replacing the "front outer tie rods"? They say they are not safe. They are also recommending a front brake job. They said the outer pads are at a 4 and inner pads a 3.
