My 2023 cooper SE pan roof has stopped working, dies anyone know which fuse it is or is there a common fault with the switch or relays.
A driver restraint light has come on saying front drivers seatbposition sensor but I don't think it has a position sensor in it.
Any help would be greatful.

Sorry to hear that. I open and close my roof quite often in nice weather, so hope mine doesn't fail.

In any case, it's apparently not uncommon on F56s, often entailing a snapped cable. Other than that, I don't have any knowledge to share.

Thanks for your reply, do you have any idea where the cables snap?

Not a good idea. But, based on experience with bicycle cables and *maybe* a picture I saw online at one point, probably at/near the head, which is at sunroof versus motor end.

Looking at mine right now, there seems to be a plastic trim piece along the sides of the fixed glass panel. Perhaps you need to pop that out to see/gain access to the cable?

If the problem is instead electrical, I also someone suggesting holding the toggle for 5-10 seconds to reset/recalibrate the mechanism. However, this was for an R series, and I don't know if that works for the F56.

I found the issue, it was a cable that had come undone.

On a different note, does your car have a driverside knee airbag? Just under the steering wheel.

Pan roof update.
I have got it working and it seems the switch wire was not plugged in, I found the cable and plug tucked up in under a bracket for the head liner. I am thinking that it has never been plugged in as it could not have just been unplugged and forgotten to put back in as I had to unscrew a clip to allow the cable to come down and be plugged in.
It's defiantly a very strange one but all working fine now.

Great that you found and repaired roof......attached is SE Warranty, 4 years/50,000 miles, should not matter that you are not original owner, any Mini Service Center would just check VIN.......

I'm not sure as I am not the original owner.
It was registered on 29/12/2023. I don't know how long the warranty lasts.
The complimentary maintenance on SE covers routine services for up to3 years or 36000 miles which ever come first maybe you lucky and get cabin filter and every 2 years brake fluid changed for free by dealer.. Good luck you love a car!

Sound like previous owner never use a sunroof but once you fixed ensuring a smooth operation and preventing leaks by lubricating moving parts, cleaning and inspecting seals and insuring the sunroof drains are clear from dust and leaves . Silicone spraying is way to go. Open a sunroof more often us you not using as everything else my get stack .drainage from sunroof usually is on both side driver / passenger in a post holding a door with small rubber hose sticking out as I cut an end of it to make better flow of water in any car I own I have never problem a hose was plug by debris over 50 years experience with sunroofs
