Anyone connect a dashcam using the OBD2 port as the power source in the Mini SE ? I read the owner's manual and it says something about the alarm going off if the door is locked with something connected to the OBD2 port, but our car has no alarm. I'm assuming it might throw some codes ?

Not sure what it would with the alarm, but there is a BimmerCode fix for it. I don’t remember the key path off the top of my head.

Instead of OBDII it’s relatively easy to do a fuse box solution. Tapping rain sensor is also an option.

I used Garmin's ODB2 USB adaptor as part of my install of a (Garmin) front & rear dash cam and have had no problems with alarms or anything else.

Thats great to hear. I had pre-ordered the Ring dashcam because I thought the ability to view what the cameras are seeing was similar to what our Tesla had.
