All this talk about getting a Touring for the price of a base model does not sound realistic.
What do the numbers look like from the dealers side?
Performance Honda? So my dealer told me that they're getting 1 more Clarity before production starts on the 2019. They do not know what trim, colour etc... it is yet. There is one person ahead of me at this dealer apparently so the odds aren't looking all that great that it'll be mine. Now I'm just debating if I walk away and go with another option or hold out until the 2019. My 2015 Volt has been nothing but problems and was really hoping to make the switch but haven't been overly impressed with everyone's experience with Honda to date.
Decisions...decisions....

If the conservatives cancel the rebate program they will likely cancel for new orders after X date.
Keeping your existing order gives you best chance at the rebate.

Same here, it is more a frustration when you have a trade in vehicle, credit application, etc. Also frustration in wondering how much the dealer really knows, like did they really try to sell something they knew they couldn't get or were they completely clueless? My car is close to a major service if I don't get this car in a few months and lose the rebate, I might as well buy a civic as that's probably what I'll lose...Yeah fair point. I guess my concern/frustration is that I had an agreed upon trade in value, went through the credit application etc... and now I'm sure all of the numbers will change when the 2019 does finally come out. Guess it's time to get some guarantees from the dealership in writing!

My sales rep who was previously responsive, I haven't heard from in almost a week even though I called and left email. It's looking bad for me.
The Clarity was actually the car that fit my needs, there really isn't another replacement out there that meets the size, distance, price. I don't even know if I give this up what I would get.
At the end of the day, they are sales reps. I suspect they have a good understanding of delivery schedules etc, however - they employ the usual tactics for that "deposit" once you put it in, you are locked - at least for 90 days.Almost the exact same thing has happened to me! My Sales rep has been fairly responsive, but just not really giving me answers to my questions (even questions outside the Clarity that I ask.)
I'm with you too, the Clarity fits my needs extremely well...I've looked at other EVs like the Ioniq etc... but I just like the size of the Clarity. I'm hoping I can have a level setting conversation with my sales rep today and get some things in writing.
My friend keep patience. Do not compromise car for short waiting of X month, when you look at bigger picture. My wife always says " get what you want rather than what is available" You will keep this car for a long time , so some patience will help in long run.Same here, it is more a frustration when you have a trade in vehicle, credit application, etc. Also frustration in wondering how much the dealer really knows, like did they really try to sell something they knew they couldn't get or were they completely clueless? I am planning on ordering mine this weekend. I am certain that if the PCs are elected, DoFo will end the rebate. If I have an order, the prior government commitment may have a chance of being fulfilled.
I am almost sure that we will not get within one month , but also have a feel that we are very close, so week of July 1 or 2nd week will be max and suggest you keep patience. this cat will be with u for 10 yrs , so 2 month in big picture will not be a matter. This car is a combination of tesla and Prius , so it is best of two world and is worth of that wait. I am determined with this car even I have to wait till Jan 2019 unless something batter comes in market , which I highly doubt it.Same here too, I'm trying to be patient and only call on Mondays for an update haha
My current car is 10 years old and the engine is vibrating so much that I can feel it while holding the steering wheel. Need a car soon and if I don't get the Clarity by mid June, I think I'll go Accord Hybrid :-/
Have you got any ETA yet from your dealer ?I am almost sure that we will not get within one month , but also have a feel that we are very close, so week of July 1 or 2nd week will be max and suggest you keep patience. this cat will be with u for 10 yrs , so 2 month in big picture will not be a matter. I called them yesterday and he indicated that I will most likely get car within one month and right after that I got e mail from same sales rep in 15 min saying that " manager told me that we will let you know in next little while when the vehicle has landed the VIN#".............. I am not sure what that means , did I get VIN or they will tell me VIN when the car is landed from ship ..? I am not clear at all.Have you got any ETA yet from your dealer ?
They may have a VIN. i think try calling them again today. which dealership is this ?I called them yesterday and he indicated that I will most likely get car within one month and right after that I got e mail from same sales rep in 15 min saying that " manager told me that we will let you know in next little while when the vehicle has landed the VIN#".............. a few weeks from port to dealer? That seems excessive.I was told the same, will get the VIN when the car arrives at the port in Canada, then a few weeks to bring it over to GTA
