Finally over 500 imported as JHMZC5F3XJC800509 showed up in BC. Given that the 119 were sold last month, the number should go up by at least 30 a week. Also assuming that they are all offloaded in the port of Vancouver new batches should show up in BC first.

that is a good find. if you dont mind asking, how did you pick this ? it does not show on any aggregator yet.

I made a spreadsheet with VIN numbers and a macro to correct the VIN checksum digit, then I paste the numbers into google. If a car is added to cargurus, there is a couple of days of lag before is is found by google.

Ontario rebates do apply to any new unregistered vehicles, even ones imported from the US. The only two issues you would have is 1) If US dealer is willing to sell to us Canadians and 2) warranty will not be honoured by Honda on both sides of the border.
Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Don’t forget that since the Clarity is manufactured in Japan and not a NAFTA country that you will have to pay a 6.1% duty in addition to sales tax. Sales tax is calculated on the subtotal inclusive of duties. So in effect the duty really works out to costing you 6.9% extra.

Based on out the door prices posted on here, factoring in exchange, duties, conversion fees (French stickers, etc), border fee, document fees, etc. I think it would cost significantly more to buy from the US. Then you have the 2 negative issues you mentioned.

Did you also order from Newmarket Honda? I checked out the sold grey touring model before I also ordered the same. My salesperson said it should take max two monthes with grey touring models coming in faster than other models.
I ordered it from the Stouffville Honda, I did go to the Newmarket Honda and I test drove the grey touring, when I went the dealer he told me that the wait would be two weeks to three months. I ended up ordering the grey basic model from Stouffville, they said they don't have an ETA yet, I have been asking frequently. Also there are currently 7 people in line at the Stouffville dealership.

Without going into the specifics, why did you choose Stouffville over Newmarket? I’m pretty sure I sat in the very same grey touring you did at Newmarket Honda haha. Unfortunately it was sold so I couldn’t test drive it. I’m not sure how many ordered st Newmarket but I reckon it’s a lot since they made 2 other clarity sales the very same day as me.

wow thats incredible, basically we got a better deal at Stouffville.

I think this will sell well in Canada, seems like many of you on the board are from there. Incentives in some parts help as well. Clarity is really a nice car. I imagine sales in the US might pick up some as people discover it.

Its friday today. hopefully there are some releases and updates :)
The production number of 509... That is so low. My car, in US, has vin number of 3000 something and that was made in 11/17. I wonder what's going on for the cars destined for Canada. It can't be that low.

Canada to USA ratio is 1 to 10 , so they need to catch up sooner or later. Current USA VIN number is around 10 000 , so we should be near 1000 range.

501 just showed up in Bowmanville ON looks like it is in the same batch that showed up in BC on Friday(496) and Monday(509). Guess they are all offloaded in Vancouver and are put on a train for Ontario/Quebec which takes ~1 week.

How do you look up for VIN in Canada? I ordered mine in mid February and no firm word on delivery. Dealer told me it could take September!! Honda is not responding on delivery inquiry! It is too much if I am waiting for 7 months in Ontario.
