So, Mini, along with the bigger battery in the J01, please double the charging rate to 100kW!
The Honda e, with a slightly larger battery and 100kW charging completes a full charge just a few minutes quicker than a 50kW SE, thanks to the rate-tapering that begins just a few minutes after plugging in.

Charging rate is highly dependent on the actual battery construction. The original A123 round cells could be charged extremely fast.
0-80% in 12 minutes. I believe there are even faster charging cells out there. That would be 200kW into a 50kWhr pack. I'm only asking for half of that 20 year old technology!

Taycan graphs. Peak of 270kW. This kind of charging speed would be great...
My BIL is interested in getting an EV. He wants a Jag. He likes driving long distances, the Jag is an awful choice for that thanks to its glacial charging speed.

The iPace is my favorite EV aesthetically-speaking. It’s also not huge, which makes it even more attractive. I think it’s built by Magna, no?

Right, I’m not denying that that is a case that exists in certain parts of the continent between the left and right coasts. The columnist in this case was spreading FUD about a pretty normal 325 mile trip from Montreal to NYC down I-87, claiming it took a crazy amount of time and lots of anxiety to get through “no-man’s land.”

I drove my SE through that “no man’s land” last weekend. I went from Syracuse to Vermont, and I was very happy with the number of stations along the route. All worked (eventually) and only once did I wait on a queue. I covered 550 miles, 50-60 miles at a time. I brought a good book and read for 10-15 minutes a pop. The trip was a little tedious with the small battery but there was zero anxiety.
