As I’m carry in my SE few 2x4 or any lumber 8’ long ‘this is my simple contraption to hold hatch down with rubber straps as are there two screws on hatch I install a heavy blue strap permanently to hook up my rubber straps to underbody of a car where there few holes to make this working and my lumber is always wrap with a blanket to prevent hatch to be damage or scratch and this is crazy as my wife don’t aloud me to carry my long load in her Subaru Forester as I can close a hatch in her car but as she is very good driver she never attempts to drive my I 3 or SE for 9 years as long I IMG_1933.webp I drive EVs figure out the a women I married for 53 years

For a really impressive demonstration of your light, you need to leave the city and find a cow, like M-B did.

Sorry, @Rexsio, I love that Mercedes-Benz ad and post it whenever I get a chance. I enjoy your posts and am always impressed by your craftsmanship. I didn't mean to be confusing.

Also, you and I seem to be the only ones who took action against the hood scoop on our electric MINIs.

And I belive a flat hood give you more air going over a hood adding 1or 5 miles of range for sure as my hood rearrangement was just few $$$ cheap is still holding very well 2 years later and I don’t know if you remember I install lexan on a bottom of SE very air efficient sleek taking of a factory carboard as I’m doing 4,7 to 5 ,00 KWh all a time as car is In conditioning garage IMG_1937.webp

Rexio, did you ever post about how you camouflaged the hood scoop? I'd love to see how you did it.
I never post how I did but was very simple DIY approach as plastic hood air intake is still there .What I did I cut templet from paper for good fitting a size is about 20” x6” and in my case I ordered 7D super gloss Vinyl film wrap Bubble free Air Realease Auto which you get on EBay 12”x60” for $15 and I used also for 2 stripes on hood you notice my English Race green color of a car is all yellow accent and I get yellow Pinstraping Pin Stripe DIY tape to finish not always perfect cuts .As I was thinking to fill cavity of air intake with molded cut to shape styrofoam I never did bc after 2 1/2 years looks still presentable as I’m wax a car 3-4 times yearly and as a car sometimes stay on sun or winter weather cheap approach still works a car is garaged in heated garage. Before you put that film on you clean a area with alcohol and temperature should by 60-70’F no in a sun and wax whole project to water proof You get this staff in dozens colors depending of your SE color Good luck as you put this together you get more milages to have smooth hood 1-2-5 miles extra image.webp IMG_1936.webp
