Now that the Octopus charging rules have changed I'm looking for advice on the best way to charge my 2021 Mini F56, I usually connect the car in the morning at about 10ish on a smart charge and let my Ohme Pro set the charging schedule, I usually charge from 30% to 100% so use the add 70% method. I set it to be ready by 0600hrs.
Prior to the Octopus changes it worked well and I'm hoping nothing will change but I'm not so sure hence me asking the question?

I'd never heard of Octopus Go before, but Google helped me discover it's a time-of-use EV charging regimen in the UK. Here in southeast Michigan, USA, we have a time-of-use scheme, too: Charging is expensive only between 3 PM and 7 PM on weekdays. Smart chargers can connect with our energy provider to manage charging to minimize the overall cost.

Smart chargers didn't exist when I bought mine in 2017. No problem, I just plug in at 7 and my MINI Cooper SE is always fully charged and ready for the next day's excursions. Critics belittle the small batteries in our MINI Cooper SEs, but they don't understand the joy of driving a lightweight, sporty EV.

I used to think I was so lucky my 70-mpg gen-1 Honda Insight required me to visit a gas station only once a month, but now I'm happy to have shed even that minimal burden. I'm blissfully ignorant of the current price of gasoline.

You lucky people. My rate from Eversource is fixed at about 35c/kWhr, 13c for generation and the rest is delivery etc etc etc.

But lucky me, the L2 chargers at the local schools are 3min away and free to us 'cos the missus works there!

I visit the gas station to buy the occasional lottery ticket - feels weird.

cheers
