Good News! I am finally connected to the app! After unsuccessfully trying to get the code again this morning I called the Mini Connected helpline back after the 24 hours had elapsed since I last called them. Spoke to a nice lady who seemed to know what she was doing who sorted it all out within 2 minutes. No details required from the V5, she just added the car to my account at her end and now the app works. Sadly, the expected range has taken a hit after some enthusiastic driving on my first full tank of electricity, but at least I can see it now!
