MA mentioned 2023 model will come with a level 1/2 120/240v flex charger instead of the current occasional use level 1. Anyone else heard this?

Sure have.

Mini Cooper SE Flex Charger.webp

Would be nice to have that charger, but not at the expense of increased MSRP. My granny level 1 charger is still unopened.

There wasn’t a price increase for 2023 though?

I'm planning to get one as soon as its available as a separate part (being hopeful). UL approved and up to 7.7 kW is as good or better than anything else out there.
You can also check out the Ford Mobile Charger. It’s the same setup and is already available via various Ford dealers.

That's a good thought, although the MINI one looks nicer. I'm still waiting to be able to buy my F-150 Lightning (I actually use a truck for farm things) and it should come with one. But at this point I'm skeptical I'll be granted an order within the next year.

Yea, if you haven’t gotten the invite to order yet you’re out of luck for 2022. Ford sent out emails to reservation holders that all 2022 spots had been filled.

I'm barely reaching my MINI with a 25 foot cable already a Ford mobile 20 foot charger would be too short. Level 2 EVSE in the garage was setup for a driver's side charge port originally due to electrical wiring limitations.

Could you back into the garage?
I reverse in if I charge on the driveway but it's just fine pulling in. For sure I wouldn't make it with a Ford Mobile charger at 20 feet. If it was truly a problem I'd just install an EVSE behind my solar inverter on the opposite wall. Could have done that but it was a not an approved EVSE for rebates. I'd rather take the money.

I just placed an order for a 2023 signature on Monday, and my dealer told me that there was a new charger for the 2023 model, but he was unsure of all of the details.

Welcome to the forum!

Did you see this post with details above?
No! I just joined the forum. That's great news. I was going to buy a level 2 charger separately to install at my office, but if this works just as well I'm going to have my boss run a 240 to the outside of the building in a little lock box at my office so I can charge up and go make sales calls in the city - I work inside the beltway in Washington, DC, and spend most days darting between my house, the company's offices, and my customers' construction jobsites.

Does this mean I don’t need to purchase a separate wall mount charger for my garage?

My new house was wired for EV. Just need an electrician to install the 14-50 wall plug. If I understand this correctly, I can then just use the charger that comes with the mini and leave it in the garage. I’d probably buy a separate level 1 charger to carry in the car in case I’m somewhere and can’t find a public level 2 charger.

Yeap - that sounds like a plan!
