I can confirm Leehoe speaks facts regarding turn prompts in the driver display when using Waze via Android Auto. 2019 Clarity Touring.

Hi Folks, wonder if somebody has recently updated the native navigator with Garmin's latest update? I did, and it keeps failing to detect satellites, even if the little satellite icon on top stays solid and not flashing. Moreover, if I try to go to another menu, it freezes, blackens and throw me an error message: "Garmin Navigator stopped working" with two button choices: "Wait" and "Exit". If I "Wait", nothing happens. If I "exit" it brings me to the root menu, and if I hit Navigation again, the whole ordeal starts again. I tried several times, still no luck, until today, after the third time trying, it finally recognized the satellites. We'll see what happens next. But at least I have Carplay, albeit with its own tantrums. BTW, this latest Garmin "update" finally filled the patch of desert where my 3-year old community sits, but with unnamed alleys, so I still can't use my address as "Home"...

Updated straight from 2018 factory maps to the latest "2023" update from Garmin lol - bought my Clarity on Friday and it seems the previous owner never updated the maps. Anyway, no issues yet - I generally use CarPlay instead of the built-in maps but if I know where I'm going I'll leave the Navigation screen on the Clarity.

I use Waze in Android Auto, and the instructions from that show in the center panel as well. I think Google maps does too.

Interesting! I use Apple Maps with CarPlay, and it doesn't show on the instrument cluster. Is this a Google Maps feature (will work across Android and iOS), or is it an Android feature (so won't work on iPhone even if I use Google Maps)?

Maybe some of the gurus here who master the arcane Clarity hidden menus or Honda hack experts may have a clue?

Updated 2018 clarity touring with the latest Garmin software this weekend: now have 2023 maps. No problems with acquiring satellite signal. Agree with others rarely use the car’s navigation. Mostly use apple car play. Will try to update maps one more time next year to see if can get one more map update before my 5 years of free maps end.

That's very good to know! I believed I saw in a very old thread someone saying it wouldn't. Did you have to do something special or it just worked?
Sorry, I haven't logged in for awhile. I don't remember doing anything special for it to work, but there could very well be a setting deep in the navigation menu for that. I've had the car for 5 years, so have forgotten many of the things I've done in the menus.

I turned off navigation prompts in the center display. Can't remember the exact sequence but it is in the system menu items on the car screen somewhere. I suppose if your car is not displaying them, they could be turned off, or as mentioned above, it may be an Apple CarPlay issue, as I'm an Androider.

Maybe should start another thread as I've not seen one specifically addressing it, but we've touched on wireless Android Auto in this one, so here goes. Updated my phone over Christmas so now have a modern enough version of Android OS to use a wireless AA dongle device. Tried the Carlink 4.0 my son has had no issues with, apart from a goat-rope to make the first connection, which I also experienced. However, mine continuously dropped the connection and restarted. Applying all the various fixes on the Carlink Website improved it marginally, but I would still get 3 or 4 uncommanded restarts during <1.0 hour commute. So I returned that unit and obtained the Motorola MA1. Same issue. Haven't found any troubleshooting tips on the motorola site yet, but haven't looked quite as hard. Waze + Pandora, or really Waze + any streaming audio/video will cause repeated restarts every minute or two. If I run Waze only, I might get it down to 2 per hour or so.
AAnyone else experience this issue with wireless AA?
