Minor-Major Modifications to an SE

Sounds good!

I went for the Enigmatic Black Level 3 with the piano black exterior pack.

You got pictures?

Mine is also a L3 in enigmatic black with the satellite grey interior. I opted for the yellow mirror caps though.
Couple of photos below. There is a black stripe between the two yellow side stripes with the Cooper logo cut out but it’s very subtle with the enigmatic black. I wasn’t completely sure about the side stripes at first but I love them now. I’ve swapped the side scuttles to piano black since this photo but I’ve left the chrome Mini badges.

I’d also recommend either asking your dealer to fit the door pillar paint protection film to prevent paint being removed by your door seal, or get some film and do it yourself. My car was showing signs of the paint being rubbed off within 400 miles. It’s also a known issue.

Looks FAB!

I’m thinking of doing bonnet stripes also but very subtle possibly black with no pinstripe unsure yet what to do. Want it to be very discreet. Similar to this

Is this still an issue?

Does anyone know the best way to utilize the child seat LATCH rear seats so that you can raise the folded down seats from the boot? I was thinking something like a dog leash tether.
This is what we did in our old R50 and R53. Bought a dog leash, sewed a loop into the end, and hung it on the head rest post. Pull a small piece of velcro toward the bottom so it would stick to the back of the seat. Forgot about that until now.

There are a few dog leash LATCH tethers available online. It would just be extra convenient just to pull up the rear seats in seconds as opposed to opening the driver and passenger door to access the seats.

Lots of charging spots around Glasgow and all ChargePlace Scotland ones are 16p per kWh. If you come out of the city to South Lanarkshire, (about 7miles south), CPS chargers are free. There are a few just off the M74 near Strathclyde Country Park. If you get truly stuck I have a 7kW box at my house :)

I go through Strathaven a lot in the summer months as it’s on the doorstep to a number of great motorbike riding routes. So many school trips as a child to Strathaven Park too. Nice place.

you’ll have to recount your experience of such a trek. I plan on going down to catch up with friends in Yorkshire in summer, so feedback on the second half of your route up (or first half of your route back) would be greatly appreciated.

If you get a free half hour or so take the SE from Strathaven to Muirkirk as it’s a nice wee run. If you have longer, turn left at Muirkirk and head to Douglas as that’s also a good twisty road.

Why aren't you guys tinting the front windows?
The rear sides and back window are factory tinted with the sun protection glass cost option. It’s illegal to tint the front windows in the UK. I think you may be allowed a very, very light tint on the front side windows, but it isn’t much different to stock.
