Here's a review that may be helpful:

The MINI in this review doesn't have the speakers on the A-pillar, so it's equivalent to the audio system that comes with the Signature trim in the US. AFAIK, the head unit is the same in all MINI Cooper SE trim levels and the Signature Plus/Iconic trims get better and more speakers. I've seen ebay auctions for the components that differentiate the two audio system levels. The positive "fun sound" review in this video implies that the Signature trim level's stereo isn't bad. However, if you're an audiophile, it would seem prudent to go with a higher trim level (or an ebay auction) to prevent any nagging doubts.

Yes, that is the standard system. I've seen OEM replacement parts sold online as well. I've been in cars with both systems as well and to me there is a noticeable difference my F55S has the HK system but I had looked at Minis that did not. The base system is not horrible but it's not near as good as the HK. Part of deciding for me with the Sig+ was getting the HK system, the moonroof, the auto dimming mirrors, and oddly the built in garage door opener. As from my other thread I had a hard time justifying the next step.

Speaking of the auto-dimming mirrors, am I correct in understanding that the side mirrors also auto-dim? I've been wanting that feature for years!

I don’t actually need another car at the house until Fall 2021 when my son starts driving to school. But I HOPE to pull the trigger on an order in February.
I hear that. We have a few years before the driving to school will happen here. Probably smart to order sooner than later in case there are delays.

You may want to time your purchase to select the current or updated 2022 MINI Cooper SE. From the spy photos, it appears they're changing the grille and replacing the fog lights with additional air-intakes (are they functional or ornamental like the hood scoop?). I don't know what to make of all the holes in the grille of the car in this spy photo. Did MINI discover the current SE is starving for more air?

The 2020 Mini SE photos had quite a few air holes as well not sure why. I'd be sad to lose fog lights as I actually find them useful!

Hmmm...I would prefer to have fog lights. I wonder what the cut off is for the 2022 models? Is it the August production break?

The 2020/2021 changeover happened during the March factory shut-down due to the pandemic, but the cars were the same except for the 10th character in the VINs. The August shutdown makes sense for a MMC (Mid-Model Change, when car companies make cosmetic changes to models with years remaining before a full-model change).

I have not posted new stats photos in two weeks because there have been no significant changes from the last round on 11/16/20. So those photos are still valid:

The current value for average days, ordered-to-dealership, is 99.1 days.
Thanks for doing this. Site was giving me errors all weekend so my arrival day at port could be off, but just added it in. Now the long wait to home for me.

I love the work keeping this up to date. But the color chart threw me, because Chili Red is marked as white on the pie chart, and White Silver is marked as red.
